Who you'll learn from

Experienced clinicians who are already using AI thoughtfully in paediatric practice, and who'll be honest about where it helps and where it doesn't. We're delighted to open the day with our keynote speaker, followed by our confirmed session speakers.

Keynote

What does it mean to be an AI-literate AHP today?

(It's more than knowing how to use the tools.)

AI literacy is becoming an increasingly important part of professional practice for AHPs. In this keynote, Rachel explores how her own understanding of AI literacy has changed as she has used, taught and learned more about generative AI, looking beyond how the technology works and what it can do, to some of the harder questions emerging for AHPs.

How do we decide when we can trust what AI produces? What effect might it have on our thinking, learning and professional skills? Does something that saves us time actually work well for the person receiving it? What do we need to think about when it comes to bias, language, disability, inequality and the human relationships at the centre of our work?

Rachel will encourage you to think about AI literacy not as a checklist of skills, but as an ongoing ability to question, judge and make thoughtful decisions about when, where and how AI belongs in practice.

About Rachel

Rachel is a Speech and Language Therapist with over 30 years' clinical experience, including 22 years in the NHS and nine years running an independent practice supporting children, families and schools. She was one of the first clinicians internationally to specialise in the responsible use of generative AI in speech and language therapy, and since 2024 has delivered more than 100 AI sessions for NHS services, universities and professional bodies.

She is the creator of the SERVE Prompt Framework and the Pledge for Responsible Generative AI Use in SLT, and cofounder of SAIL Global, an international network of SLTs championing safe AI. Rachel is a member of the RCSLT AI Advisory Group, the IALP AI Task Force and the AI for AHPs committee, and winner of the 2026 ASLTIP Sarah Buckley Award for Innovation.

Calm, practical and accessible, Rachel helps clinicians cut through the hype and fear to use AI well, safely and for good in their everyday work.

Why we built this

AI is already changing how paediatric clinicians work, but most of us have had to figure it out alone, with no clear guidance on what actually helps, what to be careful of, and how to keep the children and families we work with safe.

We're Chelsea and Savannah, Speech & Language Therapists and co-founders of Little Beginnings Hub. We built this conference to give paediatric AHPs an honest, practical day: not hype, and not fear, but real examples, real safeguards, and real time-savings you can take straight back to your caseload.

“Practical, safe, and genuinely useful: the day we wish we'd had ourselves.”
